Yes. Our Client operates a franchise business model.

 

Q: Why is your client growing so fast?

There are many reasons for their rapid growth however the dedication and commitment of every franchise owner to build the single best brand in the industry is the prime driving force behind our clients success.

 

Q: What is the selection process?

The selection process is best described as a series of "gates" a candidate must successfully pass through prior to final decision. Whether or not a candidate is ultimately approved for a market or territory is dependent on a range of factors. Traditional metrics such as financial capacity and core industry experience are weighted of course however we place a very high level of value on cultural fit as well. As a result our selection criteria are highly selective.

 

Q: How much does it cost?

Total startup costs are defined in our clients Franchise Disclosure Document:

• The Franchise licensing fee is $53,500 in the US.

• Single Unit Franchise total investment necessary for new franchises to begin operations is between $84,600 and $162,700 in the US which includes the Franchise licensing fee.

 

Q: Does your client  provide financing?

Yes. Our client has relationships that will finance up to 100% of your franchise fee.

 

Q: What else do I have to pay for beyond my franchise fee?

Additional start up costs are outlined in detail in our Franchise Disclosure document however will include items such as computer, vehicle, vehicle wrap, business licenses and bonding if/as required, professional fees, insurance and other various start up supplies and costs.

 

Q: Are there additional capital requirements beyond my franchise fee?

Yes, there are various start up costs that are outlined in detail in our Franchise Disclosure Document that vary based on whether you are converting an existing operation vs. starting a new operation as well as location specific differences.

 

Q: Do I have to buy lots? How do you acquire land?

No. Our client does not build on speculation and therefore does not require any purchasing of lots or land. Some of our franchise partners participate in investment opportunities however this is not a requirement to be a franchisee.

 

Q: Do I need a model home or model office?

No. Our client does not build spec homes therefore model homes are not required. Most of our clients franchise owners operate out of their home office further reducing operating expense and maximizing profit opportunities.

 

Q: What territories are available?

There is a map on this site that identifies available markets. Because territories and markets are being acquired at a rapid pace this map could be slightly out of date at any time. It is always best to contact us to verify availability.

 

Q: Do I get an exclusive territory?

Regional developer territories are sold on an exclusive basis however it is not uncommon to have multiple single unit locations successfully operating in the same market due to population density, market demand, operating success and other factors.

 

Q: How big is my territory?

Every regional developer territory and single unit market territory is unique and the actual operating radius depends on a number of factors. Contact us for specific details of the market you are interested in.

 

Q: Do you guarantee sales leads?

Our client does not guarantee sales leads however their dedicated head office marketing team works tirelessly to assist you in driving new lead opportunities on an ongoing basis.

 

Q: How much experience do I have to have as a homebuilder?

Our client is looking for franchise owners who can demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skill required to operate a successful construction business however there is no single measurement they use to determine whether or not you qualify. A typical single unit franchise owner has three or more year’s construction experience. If you feel you are qualified and can demonstrate a successful track record in this industry, our client would like to speak to you.

 

Q: What training do I get?

Our client believes one of the driving forces of its success is the fact that they maintain a strong training-centric culture. From a three day initial intro training session at their corporate office and their Corporate University training program and ongoing regional training events, they place a high value on ensuring you receive the proper initial training to launch your business and they invest heavily as an organization on an ongoing basis to ensure thier partners and projects managers have the finest skills training available.

 

Q: How long is the term?

Initial term is 10 years with two additional renewable periods of 10 years for a total possible term of 30 years.

 

Q: What are the advantages of converting from an independent construction company?

The advantages to becoming our clients franchise owner vs. remaining an independent are vast. Everything from brand power, buying power and unique growth opportunities due to being part of a committed network makes owning a franchise a highly strategic decision for the right person. They will be happy to provide extensive details with you if you choose to proceed further with your due diligence.

 

Q: How much staff does it require to run a franchise?

This is one of the benefits of operating a franchise unit vs. operating independently. Most of our clients franchise owners operate from their home office and because all of the back-end support required to operate your company is provided by our client you are not required to continue to add staff to accommodate your growth. This is particularly valuable during slow market cycles which invariably will occur over the course of your career as a construction professional.

 

Q: What support services do I get?

Our client provides an entire set of back-office services including full accounting, marketing, customer relationship management tools, project management technology and ongoing training. This suite of services is one of the primary value points our clients franchise owners point out when asked why they chose to join.

 

Q: Can I make more money now than I currently do?

You will never have a limitation placed on your ability to scale your income. Ultimately the income you earn is reflected in your level of commitment however our clients system is designed to allow you to achieve any level of financial success you desire while also helping you avoid the costly mistakes many independent owners make that reduce their ability to increase their personal income.

 

 

Q: What revenue streams or business channels are available to me?

Today our client focuses on residential custom home building, custom renovations and targeted commercial projects. You will be afforded the opportunity to become the market leader in your area in all of these channels.

 

Q: How far can I scale my business with your client?

Our clients business model is designed to ensure there is no limit to the size of business you can realize with them.

 

Q: Can I talk to other owners?

Absolutely. We encourage anyone considering a franchise with our client to speak to other franchise owners.

 

Q: What’s the difference between regional developer and single unit?

A regional developer franchisee acquires territory rights from our client with the intent of securing single unit franchisees throughout that territory. A single unit franchisee operates a single location in their local marketplace.

 

Q: What's the difference between our client and a spec builder?

They do not build on speculation. 100% of thier projects are managed using thier Client Control methodology which greatly reduces the operating and financial risks commonly associated with building on speculation.

 

Q: What is Client Control™ methodology?

Client Control™ is the contract method our client has created and is the only contract method they use in all of thier projects regardless of size and scope. In its simplest terms, Client Control™ is a hybrid of Cost-Plus + Fixed Price with 100% transparency. This contract methodology resonates greatly with thier homeowners and business owner clients whom they consider to be the most discerning and intelligent clients in the world.

 

Q: Can I resell my franchise?

Yes, you can resell your franchise. Certain terms and restrictions apply.

 

Q: Can I own more than one franchise?

Yes, provided you can demonstrate the ability to successfully operate more than one unit without sacrificing the integrity of our brand or reducing client satisfaction. Certain terms and restrictions apply.

 

Q: Can I purchase an existing operating franchise?

Yes. If an existing franchise is currently available for sale.

 

Q: Is this an owner/operator business or can this be an absent owner, investment focused business?

Our client requires its owners to actively participate in the operations of their unit(s).

 

Q: How long does it take to open and start taking on clients?

This will overwhelmingly depend on you. Many franchisees bring their current pipeline with them to create a seamless cut-over. Other times, there may be overflow business in the pipeline from a Regional Partner or other single unit that you can participate in although we do not guarantee this to ever be the case. Regardless, most of our franchisees are actively managing real projects within the first 90 days of their business opening; often sooner.

 

Q: Do I need a physical office space?

No. You do not need to open a physical office space. In fact, our client recommends you launch your business from your home office if this is practical for you. As your business grows you may find that opening an office space would benefit you however we do not mandate that you ever open an office.

 

Q: Can I use my current suppliers and sub trades or do have to use your clients?

Yes, our client encourages you to bring your existing relationships with you. As long as they are able to move to operate in the our clients structure. Commonly, we experience that sub-trades and suppliers view our clients "Client Care system" as a dramatic improvement to what is commonly found in the marketplace protecting their interests as well as theirs.

 

Q: I have invested a lot of money in my current renovation company, but would like to grow to the next level. In your opinion is your client able to help me grow to that next level?

Many of our clients current franchise owners were in that same position when they chose to join. Overwhelmingly, the reason they chose to do this was because they recognized they could eliminate their growth ceiling by leveraging our clients system and network.

 

Q: How does your client find quality sub trades? Is there a validation process?

Yes, reference checking and past project references are part of our clients sub-trade qualification process. As the owner of your local Franchise you will be responsible for finding and maintaining your sub-trade base.

 

Q: Can I build in someone else's area?

Our client protects their franchise owner’s right to operate in their market without fear of another franchise competing with them. However, it is not uncommon for more than one unit to work together in any particular area to exploit sales opportunities and value to all parties. In any case, these arrangements are subject to approval from the regional partner and any participating unit in the territory.

 

Q: Is there a “HOW - TO” manual for building a house or for renovations?

Our client provides a highly structured set of processes and systems for managing their projects from initial design through final construction however it is the skill of thier Partner and Project Managers who ensure best practices are carried out while maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction. In addition to online scheduling and selection tools, construction process is controlled and managed through an extremely detailed step by step checklist process for every scope of work.

 

Q: Can I call any office/partner for support or do I always have to call my regional developer?

One of the greatest sources of value that all franchise partners enjoy is the availability and openness of everyone, at every level, in the company to support each other. Beyond regional meetings and weekly all-partner calls, it is common for one Partner to contact another for guidance and insight on a particular need or opportunity due to expertise in that area. It is a source of pride for our client and one of thier strongest competitive advantages.

 

Q: Does your client have better buying power because it is an international company?

Yes, as our clients brand continues to develop into new territories and their total product buys increase, their buying power with regional, national and International suppliers grows. As a result of that gross product buy each partner enjoys better bottom line pricing as a result. In custom contracting however, many of our specialized local contractors do not supply product or services to multiple locations and as such their pricing will not be subject to our client’s buying power advantage.

 

Q: Is all marketing done by your clients head office?

Our clients head office marketing and branding staff provides a vast array of marketing and sales support that increases your visibility and access to prospective clients. However the most successful franchise owners recognize they hold a great deal of responsibility to be engaged with their local market partners and best buyer prospects to create new opportunities to their business unit through their own efforts. Similarly, many franchisees choose to invest additional funds on their own to accelerate their sales growth.

 

Q: Does it make sense to buy a franchise from your client if I don’t live in a strong market?

Defining a strong or weak market is a very subjective thing however our client is achieving 100% success rate in every market they operate. At any given time, and in any given market, there will always be winners and losers and every franchise owner is absolutely committed to ensuring they provide more value to more people than any competitor possibly could. Our client believes this is the cornerstone to achieving market leader position and provides an unfair competitive advantage during any economic cycle. Maintaining an extremely agile operating model allows  franchisees to capitalize on specific market opportunities in virtually any market.
